FCEF continues to develop strategies to ensure private sector and employer positions are reflected in labour law reforms including the Employment Relations Act ( ERA, 2007) currently under review.

A technical meeting with FCEF Board members and FCEF representatives on the Employment Relations Advisory Board (ERAB) was held to develop the next phase of strategies for the ERA Bill currently with the AGs Office and later to proceed to the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Legislation, Cabinet and then Parliament in June.

The technical meeting was supported by the International Labour Organization’s Bureau for Employers Activities (ILO-ACTEMP) and presentations made by the Fiji Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations and the Solicitor General’s Office.
